ECAD, Inc. Releases Mastering CADWorx P&ID Training Videos
Midland, TX (March 03, 2010) — ECAD, Inc. announced today the release of its COADE Intergraph Video Training Course for CADWorx P&ID titled Mastering CADWorx P&ID. This COADE Intergraph-approved training course incorporates all of the topics covered in a classroom setting, into one easy to follow training video.

The Mastering CADWorx P&ID Professional video is part of the CADWorx Video Training series. The Mastering P&ID Professional video breaks learning CADWorx P&ID into a few components: Creating Bid Drawings, Project Setup, Using a Database, Sharing Data, and Customization. Some of the topics covered include inserting a drawing into a database, managing configuration settings, customizing for company standards, transferring drawings between projects, converting existing AutoCAD drawings to CADWorx, and much more. The 8 hour course covers nearly every command inside of P&ID in project framework helping the user understand the power of P&ID for everyday use.

Users can elect to watch the videos only, come to training for an instructor led experience and take a copy of the videos home for review, or work with an instructor in a combination course that is both hands on instructor and video oriented.”

“My goal in making the video series was to document the features of P&ID and define best practices”, said Dave Wolfe, video author. “I also felt that introducing users to the program through the natural progression of a project gives them the best understanding to create their own new intelligent P&ID’s. By learning the detailed documentation within a project framework, users will be able to implement many successful piping projects.”

Topics included in the video are:
  • The creating bid drawings module covers basic drafting commands by familiarizing user with the buttons.
  • The project setup section covers each of the setup files for P&ID and gives an introduction to CADWorx specs.
  • In the “Using a database” section, database-specific P&ID commands will be introduced as well as the techniques to get reports and project information.
  • The “Sharing Data” section covers methods to capitalize on the accessibility of the data in P&ID by teaching how to use Loops, Datasheets, CADWorx IP, and link to the P&ID View palette.

Included with the P&ID videos is a companion workbook for taking notes and following along with the instructor. The streamlined web interface allows users to pick up easily where they left off, or to get refreshed on an individual topic.
